My name is Alexander Wilson Featherston and founder of AFS (Hull) Ltd, I'm a time served Engineer with 40+ years of specialised experience in the Brewery and Distillery industries, erecting and installing on site. Alex initially served a 6 year apprenticeship in cryogenics as a Turner/Fitter for an established engineering company in Hull and progressed to Richard Sizers Engineering who later was incorporated into Briggs of Burton and worked across the UK and internationally for this company for 39 years. More recently Alex left his position at Briggs and became a founder member of CTS Process in Cottingham, Overseeing all installations of new plants as well as modifications, upgrades and servicing to existing plants as the companies Installation Director. Alex’s forte is being the last Sizer/Porteus trained Engineer in the country, maintaining Porteus Mills since 1972. His bespoke career portfoli o includes working for blue chip companies like Diageo, Coors, Heineken, Pernod Ricard, Irish Distillers, Guinness and has installed and supervised men on site in Russia, Africa, The Caribbean, Asia and Europe in his career journey. As standard, prior to any work undertaken, risk assessments and method statements are submitted as Health and Safety is paramount.
